Join us in the Raptor Woodland Refuge to learn about some of our resident birds of prey and what makes each species unique. Ell Kinsey, raptor care specialist, will talk about what makes each species unique.

May 5: Hawks

Swoop in and say hello to our resident hawks!

Fun fact: When bison still roamed the west, Ferruginous Hawk nests contained bison bones and hair along with sticks and twigs.

June 2: Falcons

Learn about how these predators dominate the sky!

Fun Fact: Falcons have exceptional vision, with eyesight eight times more powerful than humans.

July 7: Owls

Learn about these silent hunters of the night!

FUN FACT: One of our great horned owls favorite foods is skunks.

August 4: Eagles

Learn about the subject of Americas most amazing conservation success story; Bald Eagles.

Fun Fact: A Bald Eagle will harass a hunting Osprey until the smaller raptor drops its prey in midair, where the eagle swoops it up.
