Support the Forest with Your Membership

Your membership provides a full year of amazing benefits AND directly supports Fontenelle Forest, a local 501c3 nonprofit. Our mission is to inspire current and future generations to care for the natural world through our work in conservation, education and recreation.

Memberships become active upon the date of purchase and are valid for 12 consecutive months. Members can join or renew online, in person at our Visitor Services desk or by calling 402-731-3140. For questions, see our FAQ.

Patron Memberships

Deepen your engagement with the Forest by choosing a Patron Membership. These memberships include a tax-deductible gift to the Forest. Patron memberships include the same benefits as our standard household membership plus the benefits below, which vary by level:

• Additional one-time use guest day passes

Your payment less a $70 household membership represents a tax-deductible donation. Sales tax included.

Trail Access
Year-round access to over 2,100 acres of land and 24 miles of trails in the extraordinary loess hills at Fontenelle Forest and Neale Woods Nature Reserve.

Fontenelle FOrest

ADA-Accessible Boardwalks
Two ADA-accessible boardwalks, providing individuals of all ages and abilities the opportunity to observe wildlife, the changing seasons and views of the Missouri river.

Flora & Fauna
Experience diverse ecosystems from deciduous forest to oak savanna, prairie and wetlands on our trails. The Forest is a premier Audubon-designated birding location with over 246 recorded species. 

Acorn Acres (reopening in 2024)
A one-acre natural playscape in the Forest that provides children with a unique opportunity to explore the outdoors through unstructured play. 

Habitat Hollow
An indoor, nature-based play area where young explorers can make nature discoveries, participate in interactive activities and crafts, and meet our animal ambassadors.

Raptor Woodland Refuge
This canopy-level exhibit provides visitors with the opportunity to observe non-releasable educational birds of prey and learn about raptor conservation.

Baright Gallery
Located in the Fontenelle Forest Nature Center, the gallery features exhibits about nature and the rich history of Fontenelle Forest. See current exhibit.

Discounts on Programs, events & Day Camps
Free or discounted programs and events for children, adults and seniors, as well as discounts on children’s day camps (including summer, winter and spring camps). See programs and events calendar.

Discounted Guests ADmission
Every time you visit, two of your non-member guests get half-price admission to the Forest. 

Discount at Gift shop & TreeRush
Members receive a 10% discount at the Fontenelle Forest gift shop. Members also get 10% off TreeRush Adventures and KidsRush (separate admission required).

Reciprocal Memberships
Discounts are available at up to 120 nature centers nationwide through the Association of Nature Center Administrators (ANCA) Reciprocal Program. Click here to learn more.

Options available exclusively to members for an additional fee:

Plus-one Option
Bring one additional guest for free every time they visit the Forest. Members may add a plus-one to their membership enabling them to bring one additional guest every time they visit the Forest. The plus-one add-on may be added to your membership online at the time you purchase (or renew) your membership, or at any time at our Visitor Services desk. Your plus-one expires at the same time as your membership and must be renewed annually.

Member Fob option
Members may purchase a keyless fob at our Visitor Services desk to access trails before and after business hours via the member gate at the Nature Center. Member fob hours are posted on our website homepage under the red Alerts button, at our member gate and all fob users receive a convenient, pocket-sized printout.
