Fontenelle Forest adding bald eagle mew

Mannheim Steamroller’s Chip Davis recently donated $350,000 to Fontenelle Forest.

With this money, Fontenelle Forest will add a bald eagle mew, or habitat, to its Raptor Woodland Refuge for one bald eagle to reside. Besides the Henry Doorly Zoo, Fontenelle Forest will be the only place in the state where a bald eagle is on display, said Molly Mullen, Fontenelle Forest manager of marketing.

Davis has been involved with Fontenelle Forest since his son found a young great horned owl on his property, according to a Fontenelle Forest news release. The owl, named “Bolt,” recuperated at Fontenelle Forest before being released on Davis’ property….
