Farewell to Dawn Jensen, Director of Finance & Administration

It is with bittersweet emotions that we announce that Dawn Jensen will be retiring as Fontenelle Forest’s Director of Finance and Administration this summer.

Dawn joined the Forest team in ​2017. Over the past seven years, she has been instrumental in ensuring a strong financial position for the organization and has helped move important policies and procedures forward. As strategic and steadfast as she has been for Fontenelle Forest, Dawn is most well known for her thoughtfulness and kindness toward staff, volunteers, and visitors.

Dawn is “very grateful for the past seven years that I have worked at the Forest. It has been an amazing opportunity to watch the Forest grow and overcome some challenges. I am confident that the leadership and entire Forest team will continue to move the organization forward in achieving its goals. As much as I have enjoyed working at the Forest and seeing people connect with nature, I have enjoyed most the opportunity to work with a team of kind and down-to-earth individuals who are truly passionate about the mission of the Forest.”

While we are very sad to see her go, we are extremely grateful for the time and expertise that Dawn has given to the Forest during her tenure. Dawn has graciously offered to help onboard and train her replacement over the next several months, and we know she won’t be a stranger on the trails. She is looking forward to traveling and backpacking with her partner Rusty in their retirement.
