September 7, 2019 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am

Free – $11
International Vulture Awareness Day graphic

We are rescheduling this event for a time when our new Turkey Vulture, Sundance, is acclimated to his new life in Bellevue. We will post about the new details soon.

Join us for this international celebration of one of the most important birds on the planet – the vulture. We will be doing all things turkey vulture- coloring, viewing, crafts, etc.

We at Fontenelle Forest know the importance of this bird – they clean up the forest for us, they have traits that no other birds have, and they are very intelligent. Learn with us why vultures mean so much to our local ecosystem.

Meet a live turkey vulture and take photos of this truly unique bird as part of our photo contest — submit your photo of Sundance, our new turkey vulture, and whichever photo gets the most likes on Facebook wins 4 passes to Fontenelle Forest and the use of their photo on posters and printed ads all year.

Help us celebrate the weird, wild life of a turkey vulture from 12-2 p.m.!
