Seniors Understanding Nature: Personalities Who Made History at Fontenelle Forest

August 25, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

A black and white picture of a group of people with the words "Personalities Wednesday, August 25. S.U.N. Seniors Understanding Nature. Foar active seniors who enjoy learning about nature" and the Fontenelle Forest logo.

Come join Catherine Kuper, longtime Forest volunteer, employee, and historian, as she takes us through the history of Fontenelle Forest’s most colorful characters!

During this presentation, you’ll hear stories of the “Hermit of Fontenelle Forest” and the “Birdman of Bellevue,” as well as the innovators who helped develop the idea of a nature center. Who were the Henry David Thoreaus of Fontenelle Forest? Who were the movers and shakers? Come find out in this historical deep dive!

This event will take place from 10:00-11:00 am and will last 1 hour in the Forest Room at the Fontenelle Forest Nature Center. For adults ages 55 and up who enjoy learning about the natural world.

Maximum of 200 people. No registration is required.
