Meet some of Fontenelle Forest’s educational critters up close! Animal Care Specialist, Patrick Conner, will be on Dennis Plaza providing information about some of the reptiles and amphibians that call Fontenelle Forest home. In the event of rain, this program will be moved to the Great Hall inside the Nature Center.

April 15: Tiger Salamanders |
Meet one of the “slipperiest” friends at the Forest. Join us on Dennis Plaza to learn about tiger salamanders. |
August 12: Speckled Kingsnake |
Learn how snakes use their tongue to hunt for food and what makes speckled kingsnakes unique. |
September 30: Ornate Box Turtles |
What gets you out of your shell? Join us for a meet n’ greet with one of Nebraska’s iconic reptiles, the ornate box turtle. |
