Fontenelle Forest is excited to announce our new homeschool program, Acorn Academy! Homeschool students six years and older are invited to learn at the Forest on select Tuesday mornings!

Students will engage with a variety of nature-based topics through science experiments, creative writing, group projects, crafts and more. Our program materials, activities and lessons are designed to accommodate students of a variety of ages and learning styles.

At the Acorn Academy, students are encouraged to follow their interests, explore nature and make new friends!


 

When: Select Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Age: This program is for children ages 6 and older.
Location: Fontenelle Forest Nature Center Cafeteria
Program Fee: $8 per child. Members must sign in to receive discount. Non-member price: $8 per child + daily admission. Pre-registration is required.
MAXIMUM CAPACITY: 10

Registration is available by individual session – OR – you can also sign up for a full month of Acorn Academy at a time!

Theme: Frogs

Hip, hop, hooray! It’s time to talk about some of our favorite slimy friends – frogs! Students will look at their marvelous lifecycles and participate in some amphibious activities to better understand the frogs of Fontenelle Forest.

What do birds, turtles, and frogs have in common? They all lay eggs! Join us as we learn more about the different kinds of egg-laying critters we can find here in the Forest.

We work hard to protect and conserve over 2,100 acres and 24 miles of trails for current and future generations to explore and enjoy.
