Unsuspecting Ralston woman gets rare glimpse of screech owl during trip to mailbox

Mother Nature sent a special delivery to a Ralston woman.
Abbie Lira went to check her mailbox Friday. Instead of letters, she found something that stared back: an owl.
“It was kind of amazing,’’ she said. “He just turned his head and looked at me.”
The eastern screech owl was just resting in the box, one that is on a post by the curb.
