Plan your next visit to Fontenelle Forest!

Thank you for visiting Fontenelle Forest! We sincerely hope you enjoyed your experience and come back to visit us again soon.

If you are planning a return visit or are interested in attending additional events, you may want to consider becoming a Fontenelle Forest member. Membership pays for itself in just a few short visits and provides tons of cool benefits, including a full 12 months of free admission to Fontenelle Forest and Neale Woods and discounted program pricing.

Here’s a preview of just a few experiences you can look forward to with your new annual membership. Don’t worry, we are open daily, year-round, so there’s plenty of time to fit in all of the fun!

Love hiking? We have hiking trails (and lots of them)!

In fact, our two properties Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue, and Neale Woods in Omaha, feature a combined 2,100 acres of land and 24 miles of maintained trails within the extraordinary Loess Hills. There are endless discoveries to be made around every corner while exploring the Forest!

Are you an adventure seeker who loves to explore and learn?

Learn which wildlife comes out after dark during a guided Full Moon Hike, or how to identify birds or trees on one of our many naturalist-led hikes. See birds of prey up close and learn cool raptor facts at Adult Raptorology. Or attend one of our special events like Family Adventure Days, Beer on the Boardwalk or Winter Wonderland!

Looking for family-friendly activities? We’ve got you covered!

From our indoor and outdoor nature-inspired children’s play areas, Acorn Acres and Habitat Hollow, to a year-round calendar of family-friendly programs and events, (like our popular biweekly Mupies program, or children’s day camps in spring, summer and winter) your family will never run out of new things to experience.

Are you an avid birder? A trip to the Forest promises no egrets.

You also won’t want to miss our educational birds of prey in the Raptor Woodland Refuge including owls, falcons, hawks, two bald eagles, and more!

The Forest is also a premier Audubon-designated birding location with over 246 recorded species! For those who prefer to stay inside, we offer a relaxing indoor bird observation area (Nature Center, Lower Level).

Do you love animals? Every day is a shell-ebration of scales and tails in Habitat Hollow.

While hiking the trails you might observe deer, turkeys, and various other wildlife in their natural habitat. But did you know you can also see animals inside the Forest?

It’s true! Various species of snakes, turtles, frogs, and salamanders call the Forest home. You can visit Olive the soft-shelled turtle, Mr. F the fox snake, and many other critters every day in Habitat Hollow (Nature Center, Lower Level).

And that’s just the beginning! Let’s talk discounts . . .

As a member, you’ll also receive free or discounted admission on various programs, events, and children’s day camps, as well as a 10% discount on all gift shop purchases.

Did you love the Forest so much that you want to bring your friends? We were hoping you’d say that! That’s why we provide all Forest members with half-off admission for two guests on every visit!

Support the Forest with your membership. It’s a win-win.

Not only would you be getting a full year of amazing benefits for you, your family, and your guests, but you would also be supporting the Forest (a 501c3 nonprofit) and our mission to inspire future generations to care for the natural world.
