Eagle Day!

March 21, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

$5 – $16
an eagle head with the text "Eagle Day" and the Fontenelle Forest logo
Join us on Saturday, March 21, for a special day to celebrate the eagles! Eagles are the emblem of the United States, representing strength and freedom.

Enjoy eagle-themed crafts and snacks. Go on a scavenger hunt through the Raptor Woodland Refuge! An educational eagle will be in the Nature Center for visitors to meet and photograph.

Join us for a viewing of FRAGMENTS – a short film about the dangers of lead poisoning in eagles created by Alex Wiles in partnership with Audubon Society of Omaha.

In recent decades, wildlife specialists in North America have noticed a troubling pattern emerging. Bald eagles, California condors, and many other species of wildlife are increasingly succumbing to lead poisoning from an unintentional source — lead ammunition. Fragments was created in the hope of sparking productive dialogue and fostering awareness in how we are impacting our natural spaces. Please join us for a viewing of this powerful film and learn how you can help share the message about the dangers of lead poisoning in eagles.

This event is $5 for members and $16 for non-members (daily admission included in price). Members must sign in to receive discount.

Please note: Maximum occupancy for the viewing of FRAGMENTS is 175 individuals. Limited to registered participants only.
