Book Club

October 20, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am

Book Club is Back! Our book for the months of October and November is Vitamin N:  The Essential Guide to a Nature-Rich Life by Richard Louv.

Vitamin N is a guidebook for families, communities, and professionals.  It includes tips and essays for parents and non-parents who want to incorporate more nature-based activities into their lives and into the lives of those around them.  The book includes 500 activities which satisfy the human need for vitamin N.  You are sure to find some inspiration for yourself, your family, your youth group, your nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends. We are excited this book pairs perfectly with our Leading a Nature Rich Luncheon featuring Louv himself. Not only do we get to read an amazing book that connects so well with The Forest, but we also have the opportunity to listen to the author discuss this important topic.

Dates: 1-2:30 Saturdays

October 6  will be discussing sections 1 and 2 of the book.

October 20  we are discussing sections 3, 4, and 5.

November 3  we will be talking about sections 6, 7, and 8.

November 7  at the Beardmore Event Center of Bellevue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., join us for Leading a Nature-Rich Life featuring the best-selling author of Last Child in the WoodsRichard Louv. His work has inspired the international movement to cure “nature deficit disorder.”

November 17 is a post-luncheon chat for those who attended to share with those who were unable to attend, and for everyone to share any last ideas or experiences trying activities from the book.
