Coyote population continues to increase, especially in southwest Iowa

In November 2017, this coyote spent about an hour sleeping in the sun in a backyard at a residence on Camp Gifford Road near Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue, Neb. The resident who submitted this photo said she has lived at the residence for almost 20 years and never had coyote come out of the forest After sunning himself for an hour, the coyote got up and wondered away.
