Tuesday / Thursday Volunteers

Fontenelle Forest is seeking dedicated individuals who passionate are about land conservation and environmental stewardship to volunteer on Tuesday and Thursdays. As a Land Stewardship Volunteer, you will play a vital role in restoring and sustaining the natural beauty and ecological integrity of Fontenelle Forest’s diverse habitats. This ongoing volunteer position offers an opportunity to engage directly with nature while contributing to the long-term sustainability of one of Nebraska’s most cherished natural areas.

Work may include clearing brush and debris, seed collecting, managing invasives using herbicide, fire break and trail maintenance.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16
  • Volunteers under 16 are welcome with an accompanying adult
  • 8:30 to 11:30 AM every Tuesday/Thursday
  • Locations vary

 

Saturday Volunteers

Are you passionate about conservation and eager to make a hands-on impact? Whether you’re a seasoned conservationist or simply interested in an outdoor volunteer opportunity, there’s a role for everyone at our Saturday Volunteer Work Days. No experience is necessary! Our knowledgeable staff will be on hand to guide you through the day’s activities. Your participation makes a real difference in the health and sustainability of Fontenelle Forest, so come join us for a rewarding day of stewardship and community.

Facilities Volunteer

Under the supervision/direction of staff members, maintain building infrastructure, boardwalks and surrounding grounds to present a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere for members and patrons.
